Благословенны местность
Благословенны местность, и дом,
и место, и город,
и сердце, и гора,
и убежище, и пещера,
и долина, и земля,
и море, и остров,
и луг, где Бога упомянули
и Его восхвалили.

The "Most Great Peace" Shall Come
Yet so it shall be; these fruitless strifes, these ruinous wars shall pass away, and the `Most Great Peace' shall come...
--Bahá'u'lláh
Today the world of humanity is in need of international unity and conciliation. To establish these great fundamental principles a propelling power is needed. It is self-evident that the unity of the human world and the Most Great Peace cannot be accomplished through material means. They cannot be established through political power, for the political interests of nations are various and the policies of peoples are divergent and conflicting. They cannot be founded through racial or patriotic power, for these are human powers, selfish and weak. The very nature of racial differences and patriotic prejudices prevents the realization of this unity and agreement. Therefore, it is evidenced that the promotion of the oneness of the kingdom of humanity, which is the essence of the teachings of all the Manifestations of God, is impossible except through the divine power and breaths of the Holy Spirit. Other powers are too weak and are incapable of accomplishing this. --'Abdu'l-Bahá

If the Planets were as Close as the Moon
*Ron Miller, the former art director for NASA, created a series of images depicting the night sky if planets were 233,812 miles away; the same distance as the Earth to our moon.
Notice the different amount of reflected light each planet provides. Nicely done, Ron!

Kisses Sweeter than Wine
I was about eleven years old when I heard Kisses Sweeter than Wine by Jimmy Rodgers played on the radio. I was living in South San Francisco in a sewing room with my twin brother in the home of my aunt and her family. The song was what I hoped my future would be.
I came across this fairly recent cool arrangement.
JIMMIE RODGERS
"Kisses Sweeter Than Wine" (original lyrics)
Well, when I was a young man never been kissed
I got to thinkin' it over how much I had missed
So I got me a girl and I kissed her and then, and then
Oh, lordy, well I kissed 'er again
Because she had kisses sweeter than wine
She had, mmm, mmm, kisses sweeter than wine
(Sweeter than wine)
Well I asked her to marry and to be my sweet wife
I told her we'd be so happy for the rest of our life
I begged and I pleaded like a natural man
And then, whoops oh lordy, well she gave me her hand
Because she had kisses sweeter than wine
She had, mmm, mmm, kisses sweeter than wine
(Sweeter than wine)
Well we worked very hard both me and my wife
Workin' hand-in-hand to have a good life
We had corn in the field and wheat in the bin
And then, whoops oh lord, I was the father of twins
Because she had kisses sweeter than wine
She had, mmm, mmm, kisses sweeter than wine
(Sweeter than wine)
Well our children they numbered just about four
And they all had a sweetheart a'knockin' on the door
They all got married and they wouldn't hesitate
I was, whoops oh lord, the grandfather of eight
Because she had kisses sweeter than wine
She had, mmm, mmm, kisses sweeter than wine
(Sweeter than wine)
Well now that I'm old and I'm a'ready to go
I get to thinkin' what happened a long time ago
Had a lot of kids, a lot of trouble and pain
But then, whoops oh lordy, well I'd do it all again
Because she had kisses sweeter than wine
She had, mmm…kisses…sweeter…than…wine
Here's the way I remember it.

Merry-go-round
At some point it's not worth it
to go back for what we forgot
and just now remembered.
But if what we forgot is worth it,
we will always turn around,
no matter how far we've traveled.
Please remind us now, good Lord,
not later.
