Ayyám-i-Há is celebrated during the four days (five in a leap year) before the last month of the Baha'i year. The days of Ayyám-i-Há are devoted to spiritual preparation for the fast, and are a time of hospitality, charity and gift giving.
It behooveth the people of Baha, throughout these days, to provide good cheer for themselves, their kindred and, beyond them, the poor and needy, and with joy and exultation to hail and glorify their Lord, to sing His praise and magnify His Name.. --Bahá-u-lláh
